It’s time that Tamil cinema is paving way for movies of different genre, with a few examples like Tamizhpadam, Goa and more. And now it’s being followed by “Irumbukottai Murttusingam”, a cowboy film. But, it’s not new to Kollywood as we have seen many Cowboy Films in Black and White screens. And now, its way back after a long gap of nearly 38 years. And the more special about this is that is the combination of action with comedy. The comedy doesn’t happens like the ones which ends up in violence like vadivelu and vivek being hit by a mass of people and the action ends up in comedy like most vijayakantha nd vijay movies.
It’s truly difficult to take such a genre as it requires a lot of base work. But, for a man who made “Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi” and “Arai en 305il Kadavul” it will not be a quiet difficult task we think so. Also, in a cowboy flick, how can we expect comedy being the guns, sirls and horses form the most part? With actors like vaiyapuri, mouli and M S Baskar what can we expect more than comedy? We can assure that what could be on top of everything might be only rip roaring laughter.
The film also has the cute ladies Sandhya, Lakshmi Rai and Padmapriya on screens. It’s a good question to ask what they can do in a cow boy story where male domination is there. And the most important part of a cowboy story is alsi there which is the gun flipping, horse riding and hat twirling. And Director Simbu Devan has chosen the right man for doing all this who has done it for Rajinikanth in Sivaji. Yes, it is Raghava Lawrence!!!
And there is also an interesting factor that, M S Baskar has developed a new language for this film which will be spoken by the Tribal. It is not something gibberish that makes no meaning but a new language that makes a meaning like what has been done by James Cameroon in Avatar. Also, Lawrance, Padmapriya, Lakshmi Rai and Sandhya were trained in Horse Riding for two months to look like cowboys.
The entire movie was shot in sets and have been gone a long tour from down south to the northern parts of INDIA says Simbudevan. The music by G V Praksh shows that he has done a good one for the right kind of movie. In all, “Irumbukottai Murttusingam” will be an experiment and a genre that has been revisited after 38 years. Lets wait for the Cowboys to rule!!!

Why Watch Angadi Theru for Sure?
“The meaninglessness of a man’s life makes him to create his own meaning. It can be written or thought, it can be filmed” said Stanley Kubrick once. We are all pleasure seekers when it comes to watching films. But there are only few who could film the realities and the life of the unknown. Vasanthabalan is such a man. So, why should you watch it for sure? There are a number of reasons to tell about. You should watch it for sure just not because that it is a serious film, but Angadi Theru portrays the life of the untold and Vasanthabalan has slapped it on our face. The sympathetic lives of the shop assistants are portrayed just like as being captured in a hidden camera. The film is packed with everything right from emotions and comedy to sympathies and philosophy. We are not able to control our anger when we see to that the shop assistants are sexually molested and they are in a position not to defend. Anjali did it well that she changes the emotions in a glimpse where she shows her inability to protest the sexual molestation and also a smile to the customer to make that there is nothing happened. Our eyes go dry in those scenes where the assistants are not even allowed for their restroom breaks and any delay in their return cause the deduction in their salary. But, we even enjoy once when Mahesh and his friend bashes the supervisor with the baggage. That made the success of the characters that we raise our hands to say,” You deserve it”. The villainy looks of Venkatesh makes us a fierce look when he appears on the screen. Apart from this, the characters speak for themselves and make the film a perfect one. There are two types of applauses, one is when their favourite hero appears on the screen and receives applause for that he has just appeared and the other is that the movie has made some magic to the heart and receives the applause for itself. Angadi Theru is such a genre. Even though we are happened to be informed about the darker side of those souls, once we get out of the theatre we remember those tiniest merry moments they had. Atlas, watch it for Vasanthabalan, as he is one of the few Directors who have the guts to inform people about the rare and untold parts of the Human society.
